New: machines for complex shapes
Flat + geometric shapes: FLP Microfinishing GmbH, systems provider for complex precision surface finishing, expands its range of products and presents a machine which processes geometric shapes as well as flat surfaces for the first time at GrindTec in Hall 4, Stand 4069. The medium-sized company from Saxony-Anhalt has previously concentrated on the industrial precision grinding, lapping and polishing of exclusively planar and plan-parallel surfaces.
Active together on the market
At the same time, FLP Microfinishing announces a collaboration with the Swiss machine manufacturer Crevoisier SA, the producer of the C440 presented at the trade fair. The two companies are presenting themselves together in Augsburg. “The machines from Crevoisier expand our business to the benefit of our customers,” explains Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Rehfeldt, sole proprietor and managing director of FLP Microfinishing. “With this, we are thus also getting more strongly on board with the topic of automation, which is increasingly moving to the fore in the age of Industry 4.0.” It is a win-win situation for both companies. The Swiss company has not been active on the German market until now.
Machining of complex shapes
The C440, which can be seen at GrindTec, is a finishing machines which can be used to turn, mill, drill, engrave, satin-finish and polish hard materials such as ceramic, carbide materials and sapphire, as well as sintered metal, alloys and titanium. It has six CNC-controlled axes, of which five can interpolate at the same time. Post-processing for the sixth side is possible. It is outfitted with up to 23 tools. The speed range is between 200 and 50,000 min-1. The C440 has workshop-oriented programming (shop floor programming). Changes to the program and the parameters are made on the machine’s HMI and on specialist CAM and NC programming workstations. Generation and 3D simulation of the ISO code are done in real time, with an active anti-collision system.
More automation
The C60 loading robot, a solution for the automation of a wide range of the machines and applications in this new machine series, will also be on display. The precision grinding, lapping and polishing machines are often equipped with it as an interface to planar or plano-parallel machining. The use of pallet storage systems, an optical monitoring system for alignment and positioning of the parts in the templates and rotor discs allow for unmanned shift operation. The ultra-high capacity of the palletising system and the use of various pallet types number among the key benefits, as do the possible use of a quick-change system for the double gripper and a centring and turning station which allows for an innovative service in series production thanks to a control laser.
