Thomas Rehfeldt has the “lapping bug”. Surface finishing at the highest level
He plays on the global markets, but he’s not a player. “He is direct, innovative. He never asks whether something works, but always how it could work,” says Ines Hoinkes. She is his partner and has been Sales Manager for Export in the FLP Microfinishing Group since 2012. And success proves him right: engineering graduate Thomas Rehfeldt, Managing Director and owner of FLP Microfinishing GmbH. He gets stuck in, even in difficult times, and is persistent, tenacious and steady. He had to be: when he wanted to start his business at the age of 31 in 1996, after studying engineering and an employment position, the local Kreisparkasse bank wouldn’t give him a loan because the business concept was highly uncertain.
