Polishing

Polishing is a microfinishing process with the aim of achieving the lowest possible surface roughness. To this end, the polishing grains contained in a paste, the polish, are drawn across the surface at a specific pressure. The actual process is similar to grinding, but the least materials possible should be removed during polishing. Visual and technical aspects play a role in polishing. The polishing process is used in combination with other methods (buffing, rubbing).
