Precision grinding / flat honing

Precision grinding (known as flat honing in southern Germany and Switzerland) is a machining process with a bound grain. Precision grinding remove material through cutting and is used in preparation for the polishing process. The better the surface after precision grinding, the less time is needed for polishing.
